Rainy Day Activity

We had a rainy day here in Boston. The family decided to take advantage of a coupon Mom had and paint some pottery. It was a total blast. Eva was completely into it the whole time. What three-year-old do you know can sit and paint a piece of pottery for over an hour? Let's just say it was a 'thank God she's my kid' day. As most Mom's will tell you- most weeks are comprised of a delicate balance of these and 'who the heck is this kid?' days. Before the painting we took advantage of a local sweet-spot.

Eva at Ivy's. This bakery is totally Mom's dream. It is full of awesome wedding cakes- as well as all-too-edible treats that are both decorative and delicious. It sounds like that it an easy thing to accomplish- but any major baker knows it isn't. You usually get either/or. Way to go Ivy.

Eva's cupcake.

Mom's cupcake. Mom wants their recipe for Buttercream. It tasted great- but most importantly it had a very dense texture which allowed for great decoration. I want the secret. Any fans out there who may know it- please email Mom ASAP.
